Founder's Story

Lived Experience Meets Legal Navigation

Legal Navigators grew from a simple belief: people should not need a law degree to understand the legal system or determine what steps may be available to them.

"Founder Robert J. Peoples, Jr. came to understand the justice system through lived experience. The law was not simply something studied in textbooks — it was a system he had to learn and navigate in order to understand court procedures, statutes, motions, and relief options."

That experience became the foundation for Legal Navigators: combining lived experience, legal research, technology, education, and human guidance to help people better understand complicated legal processes.

Our Philosophy

Lived Experience as Knowledge

Our Mission

Bridge the Gap Between Law & Humanity

Our mission is to make complicated legal processes easier to understand and navigate. We provide structured information, research support, case navigation, educational resources, and technology-assisted tools for individuals and families dealing with the justice system.

Special attention to post-conviction proceedings, PA PCRA, clemency, and reentry barriers.
Our Vision

Equal Access to Meaningful Guidance

We envision a justice system where access to information and meaningful guidance is not determined solely by wealth, status, or legal training. We combine lived experience, responsible technology, legal research, and human support to help people identify pathways forward.

Frequently Asked Questions

Key details regarding our services, scope, disclaimers, and procedures.

01 Scope of Service

Is Legal Navigators a law firm or legal representation?

No. Legal Navigators is an information, case organization, research support, and reentry navigation organization. We are not a law firm, and we do not provide legal representation or legal advice. Our services help individuals understand court processes and work effectively with licensed attorneys.

02 Post-Conviction & PCRA

What support do you provide for Pennsylvania PCRA cases?

We assist by reviewing trial and appellate dockets, organizing record evidence, researching Pennsylvania Post Conviction Relief Act (PCRA) statutes (42 Pa.C.S. § 9543), and identifying issues for further evaluation by qualified legal counsel.

03 Attorney Coordination

How does Legal Navigators help me work with my attorney?

Attorneys bill by the hour to organize messy case files. By creating indexed chronologies, clear issue summaries, and compiled court documents beforehand, we allow your attorney to focus immediately on legal strategy, saving time and money.

04 Responsible Technology

How are AI and technology tools used responsibly?

Our technology vision centers on responsible AI with human supervision. AI tools process and summarize document data, but all insights are subjected to human review and strict privacy protections. AI never independently makes legal determinations.
